Controllable Currents
Busbar Guardian™
Intelligent Busbar Monitoring
Is your boat, RV, or off-grid setup running as efficiently as it should? Even one weak battery or a tired alternator can drag down your entire energy system! All it takes is a single underperforming panel to cut your solar collection short, or one overworked alternator to risk a breakdown far from help.
The Controllable Currents Busbar Guardian™ solves these problems before they start. Our system provides real-time diagnostics for every major component. From batteries to solar panels and alternators, know exactly what’s working and what’s not. Spot inefficiencies instantly, fix issues before they escalate, and make sure your whole system is running at peak performance. With precise, actionable data at your fingertips, you’ll get more reliability and a longer life from your energy setup. No guesswork required!

No need to lock yourself into a single vendor’s ecosystem. The Busbar Guardian™ monitors the current of every device, making it the central hub for your entire energy system—no matter the brand. Most proprietary solutions ignore third-party gear, leaving you in the dark about critical loads like alternators, water makers, bilge pumps, heaters, generators, wind turbines, and thrusters. With the Busbar Guardian™, you get real-time insight into each device’s performance. See exactly how much power your alternator is putting out compared to your solar panels or generator. Know how much energy your water maker uses per hour AND get notified if it ever draws more current than it should. Finally, you get the full picture, not just the pieces a single brand wants you to see.

We’ve designed our ground bar for safety. By placing it at the back, we isolate it from accidental shorts when you’re replacing fuses. Each fused circuit and the ground bar are continuously temperature monitored, so you’ll know right away if there’s a loose, corroded, or poorly crimped connection that needs attention.
You’ll get instant reports if a fuse blows, and every exposed bolt is separated by insulated dividers for extra safety. Even if a short does occur, those bolts are fuse-protected to help reduce fire risk. The copper busbar sits safely below the fuses, keeping exposure much lower than other systems.
Set custom current limits for each circuit—if any channel draws too much, you’ll get an immediate alarm. And even if the monitoring system goes offline, your fuse protection keeps working as it should.

Think of it as 12 shunts packed into a compact, 12-channel fused busbar—now patent pending.
Every fuse naturally creates a bit of resistance. As current flows through, it generates a proportional voltage. We monitor that voltage in real time, letting you see exactly how much power is entering and leaving the busbar—down to each individual circuit.
Here’s what you get with every channel:
Bidirectional current monitoring (so you can track both charging and discharging)
Instant blown fuse alerts
Temperature tracking on every clamping bolt (so you’ll know if a terminal is loose, corroded, or poorly crimped)
Real-time power usage for each device
Load cycle counts for things like refrigerators, bilge pumps, or HVAC units
And for the busbar itself:
Continuous fused and ground bar temperature monitoring
Busbar voltage readings
It’s a level of insight and protection you won’t find in traditional fuse panels—and it’s all built into our patent pending design.

No other busbar on the market gives you this level of insight into your batteries. By connecting each battery to its own channel, you can spot problems before they become expensive headaches. See if one battery is shouldering all the work, taking too long to charge, or pulling a constant current when it should be floating. With this information, you can isolate a failing battery before it drags down the entire bank.

Group channels together and report them as a single entity, like a full battery bank—perfect for monitoring complex systems with ease.
Enjoy virtually unlimited channels, so your setup can grow as your needs do.
Choose the right busbar thickness to match your current requirements—no more compromising on safety or performance.
Couple multiple busbars throughout your vessel or system—engine room, bow, lazarette—and have them communicate seamlessly.
Link busbars with relays for both static and switched loads, giving you more control and smarter automation.
Connect your system your way: CAN, N2K, RVC, WiFi, MQTT, Modbus, Signal K, Bluetooth, and more are all possible.

The thru bolt stands out for its compact design and smart engineering. It can be mounted directly on top of a busbar, sandwiching the wire terminal with fuse protection right in the middle. Thanks to its insulated construction, the bolt itself never carries current. By attaching a monitoring circuit board to the back, you get full diagnostics in a small package—without interfering with the fuse’s core job.
Currently, there are two main thru bolt fuse types on the market: the Bussman MRBF and Littlefuse Z-Case. Both are made specifically for mobile DC power systems and may offer features like:
Ignition protection for use in gasoline engine bays
10,000AIC @ 14V / 5,000AIC @ 24V
30–300A capacity
IP66 water intrusion rating
Up to 58V max rating
Controllable Current’s patent pending design protects the use of all thru bolt fuses in monitoring busbar applications.
